Models EAM-2B, EAM-5, EAM-8,
and EAM-12 life rafts are intended for use by crewmembers and passengers
aboard aircraft/boats during emergencies. These rafts are comprised of
a circular flotation tube and a fabric deck which is attached to the tubes.
The EAM-8 and 12 life rafts have the flotation tube compartmentalized
into two chambers by vertical bulkheads. Neoprene coated nylon fabric
is used throughout each raft design. Each raft with a standard or standard plus kit has a canopy which is stowed with the survival kit that is contained in a bag attached by a line to the raft tube. The canopy contains a door opening with a roll up door cover and a rainwater collector in the top or roof panel. Canopy rods and a center mast are provided to support the canopy when it is erected. The sides can be raised or lowered as required. The rafts, accessories canopy and survival kit are contained in a red or yellow carrying case. The carrying case is marked with model number, raft capacity, operating instructions, manual inflation handle location, weight and serial number and is secured to the raft via the raft retaining line. |
